Bumper start sees Town get the Three Points
Town travelled to promotion chasing Farsley FC, looking to make amends for their 5-2 home defeat earlier in the season, on a day when a strong gale blew from end to end of Farsley's Throstle Nest ground, a wind so strong, it blew the bumper off the Town coach on the way to the match.
With a strong wind at their backs in the first half, Town made much of the early play, with striker Lee Madin shooting across the face of the goal early on.
The home side looked dangerous early on, but time and again were denied by the offside flag by the assistant referee. Town took the lead in a slightly fortuitous manner in the 10th minute, when left back Matty Cross swung a corner into the box, which deceived everyone and found its way past the home sides Italian goalkeeper Antoni Pecora and into the net.
What could have been the crucial incident of the game occured soon after when Town goalkeeper Chris Oldfield rushed from his goal to clear a dangerous throughball before striker Gareth Grant could reach the ball, only to clatter into the striker and injure his ankle in the process. Despite treatment Oldfield appeared to be severely incapacitated and many Town fans feared the worse, having lost keeper Paul Pritchard early on to an achilles injury in the corresponding game at Cantilever Park. Despite his injury, Oldfield saved well at his near post from a low drive by midfielder Simeon Bambrook and from the resultant corner defender River Humphreys was in the right place to head Bambrook's corner off the line.
After the initial storm from the home side, Town began to get back into the game, winger Allan Collins seeing his rising drive headed narrowly wide by striker Anthony Hickey. With the wind at their backs, Town pushed forward looking for a second goal, with Hickey seeing his shot blocked before midfielder Nick Jackson saw his curling free kick well saved by Pecora. Despite Oldfield's immobility, the home side failed to test the injury due to a defence well marshalled by captain Tom Hardwick. The last chance of the half fell to full back Cross, who saw his free kick fly wide of the upright.
Second Half
This time with the wind at their backs, the home side began to push forward and Town were somewhat fortunate early on, to see centre half River Humphreys stay on the pitch, after a foul on winger Adam Muller.
Soon after winger Dominic Krief saw his inswinging corner fly across the face of the goal with any number of onrushing players unable to get a touch. Just a minute later, Town went close to extending their lead, Hickey blocking Pecora's clearance at close range and with the goalkeeper lying incapacitated, Cross saw his long range effort hold up in the wind and fall agonisingly short of the goal, allowing the retreating defence to clear.
Just before the hour, the home side took advantage of the wind, pumping the ball into the box, and from the resulting scramble, Oldfield saved well from Grant.
With just over 20 minutes to go, Town went close to extending their lead when Hamid saw his dipping half volley swerve and dip to finish narrowly over the bar.
With a quarter of an hour to go, Krief picked up the ball, and after a jinking run, saw his shot go across the face of Oldfield's goal once again, before Hardwick was in the right place to head off the line, as the home side began to pile the pressure on the Town goal in search of an equaliser.
With the home side pushing forward, space was left in behind, and Town almost exposed this when Hickey saw his shot go wide of the upright after running from inside his own half with the ball. Once again Town went close soon after when Madin broke, only to see his cross missed by the on-rushing Hickey.
On the stroke of full time, Farsley went close to equalising when substitute David Stead saw his corner strike the far post, and in the resulting scramble somehow manage to shoot straight at Oldfield, have another shot blocked before full back Mike Duffy was in the right place to clear the ball away from the danger area. Try as they might, the home side could not find a way through and Town held on for an unexpected but hard earned three points
Town: Oldfield, Duffy, Cross, Humphreys, T Hardwick (c), Hamid, Collins (R Hardwick, 90), Jackson (Wright, 78), Madin (Thompson, 85), Hickey, Shipton.

Warrington Town continued their recent spell of good form on Saturday
Warrington Town continued their good spell of recent form and unbeaten run in 2012 when Durham City travelled to Warrington and returned home to the North East with a hard earned point, due to a fantastic reargurard action, which thwarted many of the promising attacks mounted by the home side. It was Town who started the brightest of the two sides, with youngster Nick Jackson curling a free kick narrowly wide early on, before striker Lee Madin shot weakly at Durham keeper Lewis Graham. Town were in completely in control of the game, but could not break down the resolute defending of the visiting side. Town had a great chance to go ahead in the 27th minute when full back Mike Duffy was played through on the overlap, only to see his powerful drive well saved by Graham at close range. Fellow full back Matt Cross was next to go close, seeing his free kick go wide of the upright. As time wore on, Town once again went close, this time through diminutive midfielder Kyle Hamid, who saw his diving header from Lee Madin's pinpoint cross, go narrowly the wrong side of the upright. The closest Town came to scoring in the first half, was through Durham defender Dan Madden, who saw his back header from Warrington striker Anthony Hickey's cross, gathered under his own crossbar by Graham.
The second half began with the game taking the same pattern as in the first half, with Town, generally in control of the game, but being unable to seriously test Graham in the Durham goal. It was, however, Durham who had the first chance of the half, tall striker Stephen Thompson planting his towering header straight at Chris Oldfield in the Town goal. With time running down, Town went in search of a goal that would win the game, and went very close just after the hour mark, when Madin saw his shot through a packed penalty area strike the bottom of the upright and bounce away to safety, with Graham well beaten. With the clock running down, much of Town's excellent build up, came to nought, with livewire winger Allan Collins seeing his header blocked by Madden before Durham could have won the game themselves, midfielder Arjun Purewal seeing his powerful long range drive saved fantastically by Oldfield, who plunged to his left to push the shot around the post, when a goal looked certain. Try as they might, Town could not find a winning goal that their play deserved, and focus now turns to the trip to league leaders Curzon Ashton next Saturday.

With time running out Collins eventually levelled but then missed a great opportunity to set up substitute Anthony Hickey for what could have been a winning goal.
The draw took Warrington's unbeaten run to eight games as they enter the Doodson Sport Cup second round fixture with Newcastle Town on Tuesday evening.

More of the same was expected in the second half with both sides having some great chances in front of goal. Jamie Henders came close for Warrington with his header hitting the crossbar.

Town Extend Unbeaten Run:
WARRINGTON Town came from a goal down to beat bottom of the league Ossett Albion 3-2 at Cantilever Park to extend their unbeaten run to six games and pick up three valuable league points.
Town dominated much of the first half but couldn't find the back of the net and were then hit with a sucker punch as Ossett striker Adam Frost found himself unmarked in the box to fire the visitors into the lead.
The half ended with Warrington striker Chris Thompson rounding the keeper and smashing the ball against the upright with the goal at his mercy leaving Ossett one up at the break.
Manager Joey Dunn gave his team a half time roasting and within a minute of the re-start they were on level terms as Kyle Hamid found himself with time and space inside the box to rifle the ball home.
Town soon doubled their lead as Thompson headed home but Warrington switched off allowing the visitors to equalise straight from the kick off.
Thompson added his second to make it 3-2 but Warrington were left hanging on in the last 15 minutes as the visitors pushed for an equaliser.
Warrington now entertain Cheadle in the Cheshire Cup on Tuesday evening, kick off 7.45pm.

Point Gained at Mossley:
Warrington Town gained a point on the road this evening as a 1-1 draw was played out at Seel Park.
The home side went ahead after just 22 seconds as Lee Rick opened the scoring for Mossley.

That was they way it stayed until the 56th minute when Town's new signing Matt Cross levelled the scores at 1-1.
Town Win at Radcliffe:
Warrington Town were good value for their 1-0 victory at Radcliffe Borough and should have won by a much bigger margin based on the balance of play.
Striker Chris Thompson returned to the starting line-up, with Jamie Henders on the bench and Chris Gahgan dropped. Thompson almost scored with the first attack of the game as his lob come shot hit the top of the cross bar.
He made no mistake on seven minutes heading home from a cross to give Warrington a deserved lead.
Warrington totally outplayed Radcliffe in every department and were unlucky not to extend their lead on numerous occasions, with Sam Finley seeing his shot across the face of goal striking the far post and bouncing to safety.
It was a mystery how the scoreline was still only 0-1 at the break.
Warrington started the second half showing plenty of pace but couldn't find an elusive second goal.
Anthony Hickey thought he had headed hom 10 minutes from time but it was ruled out for off-side.
In the closing minutes Warrington hearts were in their mouths as Radcliffe created a rare chance during a goal mouth scramble but Town saw out the game for a deserved three points which saw them move up to 13th in the table.

Warrington doubled their lead just before the break from Allan Collins, who added a second early in the second half to make it 0-3 for Town.
The hosts grabbed a consolation effort on 80 minutes after Town keeper Chris Oldfield only partially saved a shot from outside the box.
But despite a nervy last 10 minutes Town held out for a deserved three points to get their league campaign back on track.
